SKIRITAI (skir.it.tai) The elite team of Spartan warriors.
The Skiritai were first into battle scouting, surveying and locating strategic positions.
The Skiritai were skilled fighters relying on their speed, discipline and training.
The Skiritai rarely entered battles they would not win thus they rarely suffered losses.
Skiritai Capital was named after three hundred Skiritai warriors known for their tremendous display of bravery and valor in holding off over a million Persians for two weeks at the battle of Thermopylae. The name was chosen after reading "Gates of Fire," an epic novel describing the heroic battle to defend the pass and Greek honor.
